Privacy Policy

We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.

Types of Data Collected

Personal Data

While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you ("Personal Data"). Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:

• Email Address: Your email address is your primary identifier, derived from your Student ID (`StudentID@anu.edu.eg`). We use it for authentication and communication.
• Username: A unique identifier you choose for your profile.
• Student ID: Collected for the sole purpose of verifying your status as a student at Alexandria National University and for constructing your unique email for authentication.
• Academic Year: To provide you with relevant course modules and content.

Usage and analytics data

Account activity needed to operate the service includes purchases, Node transactions, completed question sets, Nexium subscription state, and login security records. These facts are attached to your account whether or not you allow optional analytics because they provide access, balances, progress, safety, and support. Specifically, we track:

• Scores and performance on question sets.
• Modules completed and progress within them.
• Login activity to manage features like "Active Streak".

This data is used to provide you with personalized analytics on your dashboard and to help us improve the service.

Optional first-party analytics

Before optional analytics begins, we ask you to choose. If you allow it, ANUNexus stores a random browser ID, a session ID, page routes, platform, coarse referrer domain, campaign tags, and whitelisted product IDs. The random ID is hashed on our server. Analytics never includes your name, email, student ID, answers, uploaded content, or Nexium chat text.

If you choose only essential data, we do not save a browser or session ID. A visit may add only a cookieless daily counter by broad route, platform, campaign, or referrer. This traffic cannot be assembled into a journey or counted as a unique visitor. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track are treated as an essential-data choice until you change it in Settings.

ANUNexus uses the collected data for various purposes:

• To provide and maintain our Service.
• To manage your account and provide you with access to purchased content.
• To provide customer support.
• To gather analysis or valuable information so that we can improve our Service.
• To monitor the usage of our Service.
• To detect, prevent and address technical issues.

The security of your data is important to us. We use industry-standard practices, including secure cloud infrastructure (Firebase) and encryption, to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

We retain raw optional analytics events for 90 days, then delete them through a database time-to-live policy. Daily aggregate totals do not contain browser IDs and may be retained to compare long-term product and business performance. Account and transaction records are retained as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

You can change optional analytics at any time in Settings. Choosing only essential data removes the random browser and session IDs from that device and stops future journey collection; it does not rewrite already aggregated totals or remove operational purchase and study records. You may access or update profile information in Settings. To request permanent account and linked analytics-identity deletion, contact us.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
